Step into the Old Town Square in Prague and journey back in its history, 600 or 700 many years. As you stand-in awe, the dramatic history of Prague permeates the atmosphere.
Along with its ancient structures and magnificent churches, it is probably the most beautiful historic places in Europe.
The Old Town Square times through the 12th century and started life since the main market for Prague. On the centuries structures of Romanesque, Baroque and Gothic types had been erected around the marketplace, each taking together stories of rich merchants and governmental intrigue.
The most known sights regarding square are the Old Town Hall Tower & Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church and St. Nicholas Church.
During the center of Old Town Square is the Jan Hus statue, erected regarding 6th July 1915 to mark the 500th anniversary for the reformers death. The groundswell of assistance for their beliefs through the 14th and 15th hundreds of years generated the Hussite wars.
To completely value the beauty of the Old Town Square, sit back and take in the environment over a coffee or a cool alcohol at one of many pavement cafés lining the square. Or climb the Old Town Hall Tower for a stunning view over the square.
